Liwa Camping Tours and Travel LLC ("Liwa Camping", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through liwacamping.com, WhatsApp, phone, email and in person, how we use it, and your rights. We operate under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, including UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL).
1. Information we collect
- Booking details: name, phone number, email address, nationality, hotel or pick-up address, group size, and any details you share about your party (e.g. children's ages, dietary needs).
- Health & safety information you voluntarily disclose so we can run trips safely (e.g. mobility limitations, medical conditions relevant to desert travel). We treat this as sensitive data and use it only for safety planning.
- Payment information: processed by our payment providers or bank; we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages sent to us on WhatsApp, email, phone or contact forms.
- Website data: standard analytics such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected via cookies (see Section 6).
- Photos & video taken during experiences, only where you have consented (see Section 5).
2. How we use your data
- To respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and manage bookings.
- To operate your experience safely: transfers, guide assignment, camp planning, emergency contact.
- To comply with UAE legal, licensing (ADRA/DED) and insurance obligations.
- To send booking confirmations, reminders and follow-ups related to your trip.
- With your consent, to send occasional offers or news — you can opt out at any time by replying STOP or emailing us.
- To improve our website and services through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
3. Legal bases
We process your data to perform a contract with you (your booking), to comply with legal obligations, with your consent (marketing, photos, health information), and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving a safe tour business.
4. Sharing your data
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with: (a) our staff and licensed guides who deliver your experience; (b) service partners strictly as needed (transport providers, caterers, payment processors); (c) authorities where required by UAE law or for emergency response; and (d) our insurers in the event of an incident. All partners are bound to use your data only for the purpose we provide it.
5. Photography
Our guides may take photos or videos during experiences. We will ask before featuring identifiable guests in our marketing or social media. You may decline at any time, and you may ask us to remove a published image of you by contacting hello@liwacamping.com.
6. Cookies
liwacamping.com uses essential cookies for site function and analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser; the site will still work.
7. Data retention
We keep booking records for as long as required by UAE commercial and tax regulations (typically 5 years), then delete or anonymise them. Enquiry messages that do not result in a booking are deleted within 24 months. Health information is deleted after your trip unless an incident report requires otherwise.
8. Your rights
Under the UAE PDPL you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, withdraw consent, and request a copy of your data. To exercise any right, email hello@liwacamping.com or write to our office. We respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We protect your data with access controls, encrypted devices and reputable service providers. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted by WhatsApp. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. Children
We collect children's details (name, age) only from their parent or guardian for booking and safety purposes, and never market to children.
