Where can I camp overnight in the UAE?

The Liwa desert in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region is the UAE's most spectacular overnight camping destination — giant Empty Quarter dunes, dark skies and licensed serviced camps like ours near Moreeb Dune and Liwa Oasis.

Do I need a permit to camp in Liwa?

Camping with a licensed operator like Liwa Camping (ADRA Licence CN-5098754) covers all required approvals. If you self-drive independently, regulations apply — our Self-Drive Support package handles routes, safety and a legal serviced campsite for you.

What is the best time to visit Liwa?

November to April, when days are mild and nights are cool and clear. December is peak season thanks to the Liwa International Festival at Moreeb Dune.

How do I get to Liwa Oasis from Abu Dhabi?

It's about a 2½-hour drive (roughly 250 km) via the E45. All our overnight packages include hotel transfers from Abu Dhabi, so you don't need your own 4x4.

How much does Liwa desert camping cost?
